Public Access Computers

Five public computers provide access  library resources and services for all users.

Digital Learning Lab

UIC students, faculty and staff may use the Digital Learning Lab. The following software is available:

• MS Office Suite
• Camtasia
• iTunes/Podcasting

The following hardware is available to UIC users:

• Scanner
• Digital Camera
• Portable DVD Player
• iPod (2)

PDAs and More

Students at the College of Medicine Peoria campus can borrow a PDA for three weeks. Upon request, a PDA will be loaded applications from a select list.

The following devices are available:

• Palm Tungsten C
• Palm Tungsten E
• Palm Tungsten E2
• Palm TX

Palm Accessories:

• Margi Presenter to Go (works with Palm handhelds for PowerPoint presentations)
• Keyboard

Other devices:

• 2 iPods

Hardware for two-hour library use only:

• Tablet PC
• Laptop
• Portable CD Player
• Digital Camera

Wireless

Wireless access is available to UIC students, faculty and staff throughout the Library of the Health Sciences-Peoria.

You will need SecureW2, an open-source program for use on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista machines, and also on Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs.
