Short Descriptions of Fall Workshops
This workshop goes beyond basic keyword searches and delves into PubMed's powerful advanced search features. You will also learn how to save articles and searches and personalize your PubMed search to help you find your perfect set of results.
Introduction to RefWorks:
Learn to organize your research citations into a personal database accessible from anywhere. You will learn to create and share folders, add references to your account from within databases, create bibliographies, and even use RefWorks from within Microsoft Word.
Library at Your Fingertips:
Join us and learn how to use the OverDrive app to check out eBooks and audiobooks from your public library. You will need your mobile device and a Public Library card (including your pin number).
Health Sciences Resources on Your Mobile Device:
You have access to dozens of licensed mobile Health Sciences resources with your UIC netid. This workshop teaches you how to install and use resources like DynaMed, Clinical Pharmacology, STAT!Ref, and more. The workshop will be demoed on an iPad. Please bring your mobile device.
You may also sign up for an individual or small group workshop at a time of your convenience. Contact Kelly O'Brien at (815) 395-5658 or email@example.com to set up an appointment.
Suggested topics: RefWorks, Drug Information, Nursing Resources, Choosing the right Health Sciences Database, or an introduction to any database (PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus). You can also schedule a library tour. Please ask about anything you are interested in learning that you don't see here.
