Research and Subject Guides

Need Help Researching a Topic? Research and Subject Guides provide streamlined access to discipline specific databases, books, articles and more.

Help by Appointment

UIC students, staff and faculty may schedule a consultation with a librarian to get research assistance, a database orientation, become familiar with resources in a subject area, or learn to use RefWorks.

Anyone in need of a Health Sciences-related consultation may schedule an appointment for in-person or online assistance.

Build bibliographies and Manage Citations

RefWorks is a Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds.

Need a Study Room?

Study Rooms are designed to provide spaces for individuals or groups to work on collaborative projects and course-related work during Library hours.

The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis or can be reserved at the Daley Library, LHS-Chicago, LHS-Peoria and LHS-Urbana. For some rooms, groups may take precedence over individuals.

Graduate students at the Daley Library are eligible to apply for a research carrel.

Thesis Binding Service

The Daley Library and LHS-Chicago thesis binding service will be discontinued effective June 30, 2012. The last day to order a bound thesis is June 30, 2012.
