AccessPhysiotherapy cancelled effective Dec. 16

The UIC University Library is canceling our subscription to McGraw-Hill’s AccessPhysiotherapy. Access to AccessPhysiotherapy will cease on Wed., Dec. 16, 2020. Please plan to remove links to the resource from any of your materials.

In recent negotiations, McGraw-Hill changed their pricing structure for “Access” resources, offering only a site license model that resulted in massive price increases. AccessPhysiotherapy increased 260% in cost between 2016 and 2020. It is the lowest used of the McGraw-Hill “Access” resources the Library licenses, and despite the cost the Library does not own the content but rather just rents it. These reasons, coupled with mounting budget constraints, are why AccessPhysiotherapy was cancelled.

Liaison librarians for your subject area are available to discuss alternative resources to AccessPhysiotherapy. Please contact your liaison librarian or email Ryan Rafferty, interim collections librarian for the Library of the Health Sciences, at rraffer2@uic.edu with questions or comments.
