Use the Library Search

You can search for articles, books, news, events and more from the Library homepage and the magnifying glass icon on the top right of every page.

Start your search

  1. Enter your search terms on the homepage.
  2. On the following page, you’ll see results in various categories:
    • Articles
    • Books and Media
    • How Do I…?
      • “Help Articles,” similar to Frequently Asked Questions.
    • Subject & Course Guides
    • Databases
    • Journals
    • Library Website
      • from the UIC Library website itself.
  3. You’ll see a few results for each category. Click the blue button beneath each one to see more results.
  4. Don’t see what you’re looking for? You can request items to be delivered to you directly.

Additional resources

The Library’s search systems cannot yet retrieve results for finding aids, digital images or theses and dissertations.

In the “More Resources” section of the search results page, you will find links to search for each of these items individually.
