Download iCal FileThis workshop will cover the basics of the library’s digital publishing platforms: INDIGO, DigitalUIC, and Journals@UIC.
- Use INDIGO, UIC's open access Institutional Repository, to publish working papers, data sets, technical reports, published article manuscripts, presentations, department and/or group projects, and other scholarly materials. Like content or research output can be grouped together through Projects or Collections within INDIGO. INDIGO can also be used to create records about data sets that are stored elsewhere (privacy or size limitations) to increase discoverability for reuse. About INDIGO: https://researchguides.uic.edu/indigo/about
- Use Digital UIC to support research, teaching, professional portfolios, and learning at UIC through flexible web space and customizable platforms. Digital UIC allows users to easily install several popular open-source applications such as WordPress, Scalar, Omeka, Grav, and more. About Digital UIC: https://researchguides.uic.edu/digital-uic
- Use Journals@UIC to publish an open access journal. Journals@UIC provides the storage, software, and article review management tools required for scholars to host and publish their own open access scholarly journals. Journals@UIC accepts both new journals and existing journals. About Journals@UIC: https://researchguides.uic.edu/journalsuic
- APC Waivers: An overview of open-access publishing support through the Library’s Read and Publish contracts, which cover publishers' APC charges for open-access articles, will also be provided. About UIC’s Open Access Fee Waivers and Reductions: https://researchguides.uic.edu/sc/apcs
