ArchiveGrid provides access to thousands of manuscript collections worldwide
Students and other members of the UIC community now have access to the online resource ArchiveGrid, an online guide to historical documents, personal papers, and family histories held in archives around the world. The UIC Library/Information Technology Assessment Committee recommended purchase of this resource, and the Library was able to license it using revenue from the Library/IT assessment.
ArchiveGrid enables researchers to identify original sources relevant to their interests, cites where the original materials are located, and describes the contents of collections. Researchers can find contact information to prepare for and arrange visits to repositories or to order copies of materials.
