Technical question: How to display all the symbols in PDFs

Have you tried lately to open a PDF, but seen an error message like this?

"Cannot extract the embedded font 'F0'. Some characters may not be displayed or printed correctly."

An earlier version 7.0.9 of Acrobat Reader will fix this error. We also recommend that you uninstall the 8.0 or 8.1 version you are probably using. PDF documents with these embedded fonts open correctly in Reader/Acrobat 7.0.9, but not 8.0 or 8.1. Follow the instructions here: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/reader_7_0_9.html

UIC users reported this problem when PDF articles include mathematical or chemical symbols, and the only surefire way to fix it was to remove Reader 8.0/8.1 and roll back to 7.0.9. If you need help, please contact ACCC Helpdesk or Library Systems.

ACCC News also reports difficulties printing some PDFs with these fonts on HP printers., field_56ba6f8fdb00c
