The UIC Library is pleased to provide access to the electronic products published by The Medical Letter, Inc., of New Rochelle, New York. Readers can sign up to receive the E-table of contents on a regular basis.
The Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics (1988-present) provides critical evaluations of drugs for physicians and other members of the health professions.
Treatment Guidelines (2002-present) recommends the best drugs of choice for treatment of common diseases.
Adverse Drug Interactions Program– An evidence-based, proprietary database of adverse drug interactions. You can search for interactions between 2 and up to 12 drugs; also includes management recommendations and references hyperlinked to the original literature. Updated regularly.
Handbook of Antimicrobial Therapy- A small encyclopedia of information on the treatment of infectious diseases. It specifies the drugs of choice for every type of infection, with their dosages and adverse effects.
CME (online) up to 26 credits per year - The Medical Letter is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians, and by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education to pharmacists. The Medical Letter accepts no advertising or funding from any outside source. It is operated solely on the revenues generated by subscriptions.
