As we honor our graduating student employees, we’re highlighting their stories, experiences, and next steps. In this spotlight, we hear from Luc, a Psychology major who has spent the last three years contributing to the UIC Library through the I-Share and Access Services team. You can also watch a video of the interview on the Library's YouTube channel.

Q: Can you start by introducing yourself and your department?

A: Hello, I’m Luc. I’m a Psychology major, and I’ve been working in I-Share and Access Services at the UIC Library for three years now.

Q: What has been your favorite part about working at the UIC Library?

A: I think my favorite part is the atmosphere. As a student and as a worker, I was nervous starting college—I didn’t really know what spots I’d be comfortable in or where I could go to study. But over the past couple of years, working here, inviting friends here, and meeting people here… this place has really become homey.

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: After graduation, I’ll still be a student—I’m going to be a graduate student at UIC’s Jane Addams College of Social Work. It’s not exactly tied to my library work, but I’ll still be helping people.

Q: Any final thoughts?
A: Just thank you! It’s been a great place to grow.
