Study Rooms
Study Rooms are designed to provide spaces for groups to work on collaborative projects and course-related work during Library hours. The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis or can be reserved.
Study Rooms in the Daley Library
Reserve study rooms
The Reserve Desk schedules group study rooms in the Daley Library for use by UIC faculty, students, and staff who need to work collaboratively.
SMART rooms
The Daley Library provides study rooms with multimedia and interactive whiteboards that can create a shared work environment. Only UIC students can use the SMART rooms.
Research Carrels in the Daley Library
Current UIC faculty and graduate students are eligible to apply for a research carrel. Due to the limited number of carrels available, priority is given to faculty members and graduate students actively involved in research requiring extensive use of materials in Daley Library.
Study Rooms in LHS-Chicago
Open study rooms
The Library of the Health-Sciences Chicago has three small-group study rooms available on the second floor, all of which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Locked study rooms
Lower Level:
A total of nine rooms are available on the lower level. Four media rooms, B5 through B8 are equipped with LED TVs. VGA, RCA, and HDMI cables are available from the Circulation Desk in order to connect various devices for display. A television and VHS/DVD is available at the circulation desk and may be used in these rooms.
In addition, five conference rooms are located on the lower level for use by groups.
Second Floor:
A SMART Room, Room 203/204, is available to enhance a shared work environment. This room is equipped with wireless internet, a video projector, a DVD player, a VHS player and an interactive white board.
Third Floor:
A study room, Room 319, is also available for check out. Because this room is adjacent to the Quiet Study Area, it is expected that users maintain an environment appropriate to this floor.
Study Rooms in LHS-Peoria
The Library of the Health Sciences-Peoria has two study rooms available on a first come, first served basis.
Study Rooms in LHS-Urbana
The Library of the Health Sciences-Urbana has four study rooms on the first floor of the library. Each room has audio/visual equipment and a white board. The library also has three study rooms on the second floor. Audio/visual equipment and blackboards are available in each of those rooms, as well. The study rooms on the second floor require a key to gain access. Keys are available for check out at the circulation desk.
Rooms are available on a first come first served basis. Faculty and TAs can reserve the study rooms for small group meeting or study purposes by calling (217) 333-1222.
