Request items

Staff, students, faculty and emeritus faculty can request items from other libraries. I-Share will quickly deliver physical items from Illinois academic libraries. Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) will allow you to request scanned articles and items not available in I-Share.

How to request books and media in I-Share

  1. Search I-Share for an item
  2. Click on what you need!
  3. Click “Request 1st Available” tab
  4. Log in, or create account.

If you are creating an account for the first time, use the Library number on your I-Card for your Borrower ID or Barcode Number.

Do you need your item sent to a closer library?  Change the “pick-up library” to any I-Share school closer to you. You’ll get an email when the item is ready to pick up (usually 3-5 business days).
