Instructor and Special Collections Librarian

The UIC University Library seeks an Instructor and Special Collections Librarian to provide reference and instruction services in the Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) department.

Responsibilities include staffing the reference desk in the department, answering questions in person, by telephone, email, and instant message and responding to patron requests for reproductions.  The Special Collections Librarian also supports the SCUA education program by teaching course-related library instruction, creating research guides and tutorials, and developing outreach initiatives.

IT Tech Associate (Web Applications Developer)

Library Operations Associate (Circulation Desk Manager)

The UIC University Library is seeking a Library Operations Associate (Circulation Desk Manager) to oversee Circulation operations at the Richard J. Daley Library; including the supervision, training and scheduling of staff and student employees. In collaboration with the Head of Circulation, the Circulation Desk Manager provides leadership in evaluating and improving access services and policies. He/she also takes charge of patron and building security during his/her shift, reporting and resolving problems in collaboration with appropriate third-party personnel and/or Library administration. This position manages the Tuesday – Saturday evening shifts from 11:05AM – 7:05PM. Candidates must be able to flex work schedule to serve as back up or cover shifts as needed and work the overnight shift during exam periods twice per year.

Desktop Support (IT Support Associate)

The Systems department within UIC Library is seeking a Desktop Support Associate to work primarily in the Library of the Health Sciences – Chicago. The Support Associate provides help to the public and staff desktop computing environments in the UIC Library. This role will install, deploy and maintain desktop computing systems in a mixed environment (Windows, Mac). Also, this role will monitor, troubleshoot and resolve system, application and network connectivity issues.
