Library exhibit highlights Latinx activist ‘Rudy’ Lozano

The former activist, community organizer and politician is the subject of a new exhibit at UIC’s Richard J. Daley Library, “A Search for Unity: Rudy Lozano and the Coalition Building in Chicago,” which will run until next fall.

Kate Carpenter retires

Kate Carpenter retired in Feb. 2022 after 44 years of service as a librarian, 30 of those years at UIC. She was Associate University Librarian for Health Sciences and Associate Dean from 2007 until her retirement.

Course helps build library’s Queer Asian American Archives

Students in Karen Su’s Asian American Gender and Sexual Diversity course will have an opportunity this spring to assist in gathering oral histories that are part of the Queer Asian American Archives housed at the Richard J. Daley Library at UIC.
